Since 2020, Jones Banda has provided strategic leadership and vision to Kasungu Community Radio and the Nzika Centre for Education and Communication, two institutions that have become vital voices in community development, civic engagement, and media innovation in Malawi.
As Station Manager, Jones has transformed the radio into a dynamic media hub that connects citizens with life-changing information. Under his guidance, the station has expanded its reach, diversified content, and built partnerships with government, NGOs, and the private sector.
At the helm of Nzika Centre, he champions evidence-based communication and strategic media monitoring that empower organizations to assess and enhance their impact. His leadership has seen Nzika grow into a trusted partner for key entities including the Ministry of Gender, The Jupiter Drawing Room, London Winners Ltd, GAVI PIU (in collaboration with MBC), Nyale Institute, the EU, USAID, and the State House Communication Department.
Jones envisions sustainable, people-centered media institutions that amplify citizen voices, promote transparency, and strengthen Malawi’s democratic fabric. His leadership is anchored in innovation, accountability, and the belief that communication drives development.
